A BIT ABOUT US
Working Towards a Better Tomorrow
Welcome to Teachers for Peace, and thank you for being here. If you've found us, chances are you're a like-minded individual who believes in the transformative power of education. You're someone who knows that education is not just a tool for personal growth but a fundamental human right that should be accessible to all. And you're someone who wants to make a difference in the world.
Our story began in 2022 when a group of women teacher entrepreneurs scattered all over the world came together to create something remarkable - Teachers for Peace. We started by teaching English using the Genki English method created by Richard Graham, which emphasizes making learning fun and lasting, using games and songs to inspire children. But then, tragedy struck. A conflict in Ukraine affected children, and we knew we had to help.
We quickly set up a Zoom account and began offering classes, starting with just one student. But in just a few days, we grew rapidly, offering free classes, tutoring support, and opportunities for leadership and personal growth to empower students worldwide to become agents of positive change.
Our mission is to promote generosity and empathy through education and help students overcome the barriers of conflict and inequality to unleash their full potential. We operate as a decentralized, self-organized community of teachers and volunteers, who share a common vision and work collaboratively to achieve our goals.
At Teachers for Peace, we believe that education is the key to unlocking human potential and creating a more peaceful world. We believe that every child, regardless of their background or circumstance, deserves access to quality education that inspires them to dream big and make their mark on the world.
Since our inception, we have grown from a small group of volunteers to a global community of passionate educators and advocates, offering free online classes, tutoring support, and opportunities for leadership and personal growth to empower students affected by conflict to unleash their full potential. We have expanded our reach to Afghanistan, Turkey, and Syria, providing free English classes, language tutoring, and mentorship programs to support women and children affected by conflict.
If you're here, it's because you care about education, and you believe in the power of community to effect change. We invite you to join us in our mission to promote peace through education. Whether you're a teacher, a student, or simply someone who wants to support our cause, there are many ways you can get involved and make a difference.
Together, we can create a more peaceful and just world through education. Join us in our mission to promote peace through education. Contact us to learn more about how you can get involved.
